Our goal at L.D. Arts College is to offer all of our employees and students a secure and inclusive workplace. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is a dedicated body that is pivotal in promoting gender equality, preventing discrimination and sexual harassment, and ensuring that everyone within our collеgе community feels safe, respected, and supported.
Objectives:
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) operates with the following objectives in mind:
- Prevent Discrimination and Sexual Harassment: ICC is committed to promoting gender harmony among students and employees in order to eradicate sexual harassment and discrimination on our campus.
- Recommended Changes for Gender Justice: The committee actively make suggestions to the collеgе management to implement changes or elaborations in the Rules for students in the Prospectus and the Bye-Laws. These changes aim to create a gender-just environment and establish clear procedures for the prohibition, resolution, settlement, and prosecution of acts of discrimination and sexual harassment.
- Timely Resolution of Cases: TheICC is committed to addressing cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women in a time-bound manner. The primary goal is to provide support services to the victimized individuals and promptly terminate any harassment.
- Punitive Action: The committee also recommends appropriate punitive action against individuals found guilty of discriminatory or sexually harassing behaviour to the college management.
Understanding Sexual Harassment:
As defined by Supreme Court guidelines, sexual harassment can be described as “unwelcome” sexually determined behaviour, whether direct or implied, including but not limited to:
- Physical contact and advances.
- Demands or requests for sexual favours
- and sexually coloured remarks.
- Display of pornography.
- Other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.
At L.D. Arts College, we prioritize creating a campus environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. ICC is essential in ensuring that our students’ rights and dignity will always be respected on our premises. We encourage all members of our collеgе community to report any instances of discrimination or harassment, knowing that the ICC is here to support them in a time-bound and sensitive manner.
